“Doesn’t answer UFC’s phonecalls”- Jorge Masvidal offers an update on the status of the Conor McGregor fight
Jorge Masvidal and Conor McGregor
Jorge Masvidal has been fancying out a bout with Conor Mcgregor for a few years now. As a matter of fact, both fighters acknowledged that the fight would be great for the business and also the sport. The possibility of a battle between Masvidal and McGregor has been discussed in the past, but Dana White has ruled it out. Masvidal brought up White’s remarks regarding a possible brawl with the media.
He stated after his victory against Nate Diaz at UFC 244 when asked about Mcgregor,
“Dana White, the president of this company, said I’m too much man for him,” Masvidal said. “I get it why people want to see him hurt for the stunts he’s been pulling, but he doesn’t want this. He’s just talking so he can get his name out there. He was cheering for Nate. He wanted to run it back with Nate. You think he’s at home seeing that fight thinking, ‘I want to fight that dude.’ That dude ain’t retarded.”
The Irish athlete was training for his first bout since losing to Khabib Nurmagomedov in October of 2018. Speaking with the media Dana White had said Jorge Masvidal is too big for Conor McGregor to fight Conor McGregor retaliated at Jorge Masvidal after ‘Gamebred’ referred to him as a steroid-abusing “little kid” in a recent interview.
Masvidal’s exact comments were “He is false. He knows that I am a man who hits hard and that I come to kill. I do not come to hug in the cage. I am going to give everything inside me to kill him. I have a little size, although now he’s shooting up and putting steroids and all kinds of things, but he is still a little boy.”
Masvidal’s statements sparked an angry response from the former UFC featherweight and lightweight champion, who said: “An absolute pigeon brain this guy is. Stupid beyond belief.”

Last year, Dustin Poirier stopped McGregor twice, the second of which resulted in a fractured leg that will keep him out of action until later this year at the earliest. Masvidal, on the other hand, has lost his last three games to Colby Covington and Kamaru Usman.
In a recent interview, with MMA Hour Masvidal touched upon the topic of him and Conor battling the tussle out, to which he stated, “The UFC has offered him this fight, as you and me both know this could be the biggest fight in UFC history, why would he not want to cash in on that paycheck? Because he knows I’m going to beat the f*** out of him.”
When explicitly asked about the status after the recent tussle, Jorge claimed that Conor doesn’t answer the calls of the executives in the UFC to negotiate the fight.
The fight has not yet been offered to McGregor, according to UFC great Chael Sonnen, which is why it has not taken place but he contends to Dana White to make the fight happen for obvious reasons. If the fight indeed does take place it would be a massive spectacle and would possess the potential to be the biggest fight in the history of the sport.
