Jorge Masvidal recently sat down with ESPN MMA’s Marc Raimondi to discuss the rise of Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA. The card is set for November 10th and boasts former UFC fighters Roy Nelson and Alan Belcher in the headline. Moreover, 12 ex-UFC veterans will be competing in the event.
On being quizzed about the upcoming crossover boxing fight between Francis Ngannou and Tyson Fury, Masvidal was candid in his assessment. He respects the boxing prowess of fighters like Tyson Fury. However, he believes MMA fighters could pose a challenge in the initial rounds with their distinct style. This is what Masvidal told Raimondi about the Ngannou-Fury matchup.
Tyson's the very best. Tyson's at the very top of the mountain. That is a very tall high mountain, you know? Everybody wants to be at the top of that mountain and Tyson's been there and been there for a while....... I think he's just gonna play with him man that's what I think you know Tyson's going to play with him he's going to go in there feign, move just movement, movement, lots of fakes, letting his hands go letting go come out throwing hard, you know? And catch him later on. I just, I always want to cheer for my MMA brothers and sisters you know but this is a tall order.

Francis Ngannou is a humongous betting underdog in the fight. Moreover, Fury already has his next bout booked for December or January against Oleksandr Usyk. That bout would crown the first undisputed heavyweight boxing champion since Lennox Lewis. Interestingly, Mike Tyson is in the corner of Ngannou for the fight.
Jorge Masvidal has also expressed interest in boxing. He insinuated to Raimondi that he would be boxing in 2024. However, he refused to provide further details. Masvidal is one of the best strikers in MMA. Ironically, he was knocked out by Kamaru Usman in their title rematch at UFC 261. They first met inside the Octagon in Fight Island for the UFC 251 PPV.
Jorge Masvidal is very confident about the future of his promotion, Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA
Masvidal is confident about the future of Gamebred Bareknuckle MMA. He expressed optimism about the influx of fighters in 2024 and boasted about the success of his promotions when compared with the PFL and Bellator MMA. Masvidal understands the competitive nature of the industry and believes he has carved a niche for himself.

This is what he said about his promotion when Marc Raimondi inquired about its plans.
100 million percent, I've always been a fighter in my life first and foremost, so I'm always going to want to give back to the fighters. We're going to have 10 to 12 shows next year, so I'm going to be able to keep people busy and mouths fed, you know.
Masvidal also highlighted the importance of fighters genuinely wanting to fight rather than just seeking a paycheck. For Masvidal, the essence of the sport lies in its raw violence, which is something he feels his promotion brings to the table. He also touched upon the potential end of Bellator as he reminisced about his early days with the promotion.
