Former UFC star Nate Diaz is facing serious charges after a recent street brawl in New Orleans. Recently retired UFC veteran Jorge Masvidal extended a hand of support and expressed his views on the entire situation.
The two have shared a bitter rivalry against each other after they faced each other in the octagon, which Jorge Masvidal won back in 2019. Brad Cohen, a well-known celebrity lawyer, is ready to represent Nate Diaz. Apparently, Masvidal informed MMA Junkie and asked Nate Diaz to get in contact with the lawyer.
Diaz is currently out after he filed for a bond that cost him $10,000. He was charged with second-degree battery and will now have to face court after what he did on that disastrous evening back in New Orleans. Masvidal himself is in a similar situation with a former friend now rival Colby Covington. Allegedly, Masvidal attacked Covington outside a restaurant in Miami last year. “Nate Diaz if you see this, I’ve got a top lawyer in the country who wants to represent you…Brad Cohen is the man,” Masvidal sent this message to Diaz.
Nate Diaz choked out Rodney Petersen, a Tiktok influencer who gained popularity as Logan Paul‘s look alike. Diaz claimed that he did so in an act of self-defense.“What it looked like to me is this dude ran up on Nate, and you’ve got to respect every threat,” said Masvidal. “No, we have to defend ourselves. It’s a cold world out there.”
Nate’s team is reportedly collecting evidence to prove that the fighter acted out of self-defense. Diaz’s charges hold serious consequences in the state of Louisiana and therefore the fighter has to move forward carefully in order to avoid felony charges.
Nate Diaz vs Jake Paul
Nate Diaz made bond and now is free to travel with complete permission from the authorities. This clears Nate Diaz versus Jake Paul fight in August. Nate Diaz, former UFC contender turned free agent, has decided that he would take down Jake Paul and influencer boxing. Diaz is a skilled striker himself and looks forward to teaching Jake Paul a lesson before returning to the UFC.
Nate and Jake have been going back and forth with each other on Twitter, with the current choice of weapon being steroid allegations. “12 rounds Ur on steroids so let’s put that sh** to work,” Diaz tweeted soon after he got free.
Paul responded by bringing up Diaz’s failed drug test before his fight against Jorge Masvidal.“You speaking to me Nathan? We haven’t forgotten that you tested positive for steroids…“Let’s do 15 rounds and see how good those cannabis corroded lungs are. VADA going to be coming to Stockton to slap you up,” Paul said.
