“He Could Drink Gasoline”- Jose Aldo reveals Conor McGregor used to drunk dial him to talk trash in the lead-up to their UFC 194 fight

Aldo recently revealed some interesting exchanges the two had over the course of their rivalry
Jose Aldo and Conor McGregor shared one of the most intense rivalries seen across any sport. Fuelled by massive press conferences and the Irishman’s antics, the lead up to the fight was as iconic as the short lived bout itself. However despite all of it, Aldo seems to have forgiven McGregor for it all.
Now Aldo has come out and revealed that McGregor used to get drunk and call Aldo’s private jet only to trash talk. “It was funny cause the guy drinks a lot, he really likes his drink, he probably even likes to drink Gasoline”, said Aldo about how drunk McGregor could get back then.
“Bro he would call our private jet, completely drunk”, said Aldo while holding in his laugh, he continued, “just talking s***, it was too funny man” Aldo then got more introspective about his time with McGregor and what he thinks of him as a person.
“He’s a good person, because he understands the other side, he understands the other person, but he’s a guy with a vision”, Said Aldo. The Brazilian then credited McGregor for the quick win calling it, “Merited”
“I was going in, like it or not he has more reach than me, he had thrown a 1-2 already, that I dodged very quick and I responded to very quick”, said the former Featherweight Champion describing the first 10 seconds of the fight.
When Aldo thought he (McGregor) was spooked he said to himself, “Now it’s the time to go in, Mike Tyson style” following which he went in charging, and as he says it, “everything started spinning. “ Aldo said that he was disappointed in never getting a rematch, saying the situation was “demotivating”

McGregor and Aldo met at UFC 194 in the main event after one prior cancellation. In what was McGregor’s first shot at an undisputed title, also was among the highest selling PPVs back then.
Aldo had reigned as the champion ever since the belt was introduced to the UFC post the Strike Force merger. Many thought he would be invincible but McGregor was set to prove that to be wrong. After winning the interim title against Chad Mendes, the only way for McGregor to end his iconic featherweight run was to top it off with a victory over Aldo.

In just 13 seconds, years of dominance had all been washed away as Conor McGregor connected and ended one of the most iconic title runs in MMA history.
