“A Cheater”- Jose Aldo rips TJ Dillashaw for getting a title shot against Aljamain Sterling

Jose Aldo’s bantamweight run has been special, to say the least. At 35 years of age with almost 19 years of Octagon experience, most fighters have to consider the inevitable heartbreak of hanging up their boots. In Aldo’s case, however, he has firmly decided to make one final title run and dropped down a division to make it happen.

Aldo who is 3-2 at bantamweight is being considered by many as the legitimate contender for Sterling’s belt.  Two of the biggest hurdles in his way are a returning EPO-free TJ Dillashaw and a perpetually return-teasing Henry Cejudo. Though the latter is not given much attention considering Cejudo’s been retired for two years, TJ after his 5 round battle with Cory Sandhagen in the eyes of many had crawled his way back to title contention.

Jose Aldo however thinks differently. In the message, he said, “In my opinion, it does not make sense to let a guy who got suspended for 2 years for cheating, to come back and fight for the title.” Aldo further stated that the split decision victory doesn’t warrant a title shot either and that in his opinion TJ lost that fight.

Jose Aldo refers to Cejudo as, “A Clown who faked his retirement,” referring to Henry’s abrupt goodbye to the sport after he defeated Dominick Cruz back in 2020.  Aldo claims the move was made by Cejudo to raise his pay, saying, ”As that did not work out he wants to fight for the title after spending 2 years out of the game.” Aldo was also quick to remind everyone that the former two-division champion was out of the testing pool too during this time.

Though Aldo’s initial title shot at Bantamweight against Petr Yan didn’t sail as smoothly as planned, fans believe that he has a better chance against Sterling, who doesn’t have the same power in his striking. Aldo ended the message by suggesting that he and Sterling fight for the title while TJ and Henry duke it out to see who sells more tickets.
