“The fans want it” Jose Aldo urges Aljamain Sterling to sign contract for title fight
Jose Aldo calls out Aljamain Sterling for title fight
Jose Aldo is not settling for anything less than a title fight and urges the reigning champ Aljamain Sterling to sign the dot.
Jose Aldo believes he is ready to become the champion of the bantamweight division after his success in the featherweight division. Following his great run in the bantamweight division, the Brazilian is eyeing a title shot against Aljamain Sterling. Sterling is coming off a title defense against Petr Yan at UFC 273 and is currently looking for his next title contender.
In a recent tweet, Aldo wrote out to Sterling urging him to sign the contract. Aldo vows that this matchup would be a fan favorite and claims the two as the best bantamweight in the world right now.
“Aljamain, I am waiting for you to sign the contract for our fight. There is no doubt that the fans want to watch this fight. We are currently the 2 best bantamweights in the UFC,” wrote Aldo in his tweet. Aldo is currently on a three-fight winning streak in the bantamweight division.
Jose Aldo believes TJ Dillashaw should not get the chance to fight for the title
While Aldo is calling out Aljamain, the champ has his eyes on the former bantamweight champ, TJ Dillashaw. TJ has made his return after a 2-year ban for testing positive for PEDs. “Let the rest of the boys fighting each other and exchanging insults on the internet. In my opinion it does not make any sense to let a guy who got suspended for 2 years for cheating to come back and fight for the belt after winning a split decision in a fight I think he lost,” wrote Aldo.
Aldo is ranked at #3 in the UFC bantamweight rankings. Another competition for the title fight is Henry Cejudo who has decided to come out of retirement and fight. In his series of tweets to Aljo, Jose called Henry a “clown who faked his retirement”.
Do you think Jose should be up next for the title shot against Sterling?
