Jose Aldo recently announced his retirement followed by a disappointing loss against Merab Dvalishvili. The Brazilian had an amazing career in UFC and is considered the featherweight GOAT by many fans. However, the 36-year-old still has some interest in trying out different things other than MMA.

During a recent interview with Sherdog, Aldo’s long-time coach, Andre Pederneiras mentioned about the fighter’s next plans. Pederneiras mentioned that Aldo finished his career in the biggest MMA promotion in the world which is UFC and has no plans to join other ones. According to Pederneiras,is financially well off and is not chasing money anymore.

He said, “Aldo had one fight on his contract with the biggest promotion in the world, where he built all his history. No matter the financial proposal, it wouldn’t make any sense for him. Especially since Aldo is already financially comfortable for the rest of his life. He never considered returning in another MMA promotion.”

Pederneiras explained that Aldo loves training MMA on a regular basis and will continue to do so in the future. Pederneiras also revealed that there is something big coming for Aldo, a boxing bout with Acelino “Popó” Freitas is a possibility.

“I have no doubt that boxing and Muay Thai bring much more pleasure to Aldo in his daily routine,” said Pederneiras. “MMA training is not only physically stressful but also mentally…There is something really big coming up for Aldo. Maybe one day a fight with Popó can be interesting, but it’s not at that moment.”

Aldo is considered one of the best boxers in UFC history and his striking is lethal. The ‘King of Rio’ has a huge fan base and a boxing debut is a great idea to serve the fans’ action-packed entertainment.

She was still pregnant at the time and got emotional. Her blood pressure went up and we had to go to the hospital. She was admitted to the hospital on Friday. She had preeclampsia and [the blood pressure] went up after Dana’s message,” said Jose Aldo
