When questioned about Showtime Boxing’s rumored exit from the sport, Dana White displayed no signs of regret about the departure from boxing. In a recent post-fight press conference for the Dana White Contender Series, the UFC president was quizzed about his thoughts on Showtime Boxing’s decision. White didn’t appear particularly troubled by the development. In fact, White didn’t seem to be overly distressed by the idea and while answering the questions, he didn’t hold back at all before making fun of the situation.
“That’s incredibly unfortunate” Dana White said sarcastically. “Production of that show is fantastic, the guy who runs Showtime boxing is a great human being. It’s unfortunate to hear this. F*** Espinoza, and it’s about time that s***** product is off the air.”
White ridiculed the production’s event, which was later accompanied by a mocking of Showtime Sports President Stephen Espinoza. White and Espinoza, who had previously worked together on the 2017 Conor McGregor vs. Floyd Mayweather boxing match, have a strained relationship.
Despite the event’s significant success in terms of pay-per-view revenue and financial gains for all parties involved, disputes over statistics and a continuous exchange of criticisms have persisted. White’s evident hatred towards boxing probably plays a role in the strained relationship
UFC legend Mark Hunt loses legal case against Dana White and Brock Lesnar
Mark Hunt’s legal dispute against the UFC, Dana White, and Brock Lesnar has reached a final resolution. In 2016, the legend filed a lawsuit against the MMA organization, its then-leader, and the former heavyweight champion after UFC 200.
Hunt’s argument was that the UFC, particularly Dana White, knew about Brock Lesnar’s use of PEDs ahead of the fight but, instead of stopping, White permitted him to participate.
Lesnar initially won the fight but later his win was invalidated because of a failed drug test. In retaliation, Hunt made a range of accusations, including fraud, improper gain, contract violation, assault, and breach of the implied promise of fair and honest dealing.
Recently, a federal judge in Nevada issued a ruling to dismiss the outstanding components of Mark Hunt’s lawsuit against his former boss. This legal action was reactivated in 2021 when an appeals court overturned previous decisions to reject claims associated with any conspiracy.
