“He obviously didn’t mean it”- Julian Marquez defends verbal harasser after he begs for forgiveness citing threats to his family
Gregory Rodrigues vs Julian Marquez
Julian Marquez recently fought Gregory Rodrigues at UFC Austin which was headlined by Calvin Kattar and Josh Emmett. The event was in Moody Center and turned out to be a massive success. But the night didn’t go well for Marquez as he lost his fight against Rodrigues via a brutal KO. Rodrigues landed a barrage of powerful shots to drop Marquez in the very first round of the fight.
After the unfortunate loss, Marquez received a series of hateful comments on his official Instagram account from a fan. The fan was extremely upset and didn’t hold back anything during the conversation. The Cuban took this opportunity and shared the screenshots of the conversations on Twitter for others to see.
In the screenshot, it is visible that the fan named Tyler threw a lot of nasty words toward the fighter for getting Knocked out. He even made fun of Marquez by referencing Miley Cyrus with whom the fighter had a brief little past. Marquez shared everything and Captioned it by explaining that getting hateful comments like this is a part of being an MMA fighter. He wrote :
“This is part of being a fighter This kid lost money betting on me and is super upset ?.”
Julian Marquez requested fans to not to take in on the Instagram user
After Marquez shared the tweet, fight fans didn’t appreciate that as the whole thing was very annoying for them. In the screenshot, Marquez didn’t hide the user’s ID and people easily found his account. They started abusing Tyler and giving him some serious death threats for his conversations with the fighter.
Later Tyler messaged Marquez and asked him to end everything. In the new screenshots that Marquez shared, Tyler can be seen complaining about the fighter for sending his fans to give him death threats.
In the same tweet, Marquez suggested fans to stop abusing Tyler as the whole altercation didn’t mean anything. Can you guys please stop sending threats to Tyler.” He obviously didn’t mean it,” wrote Marquez.
Things like this are very common in fight business. In every fight , people bet a lot of money in order to get profit if their fighter wins. But MMA being a very unpredictable sport, anything can happen in a split of a second and the favorite fighter can lose the fight. But this definitely doesn’t give fans to abuse and threaten fighters like this.
