Julianna Penna and Amanda Nunes fought against each other at UFC 269 and it was one of biggest nights in recent UFC history. Originally the fight was scheduled to take place on UFC 265 but later was transferred to UFC 269. During the build up to the fight, both fighters were extremely verbal against each other. The competitiveness was visible as both the fighter’s weren’t backing down at all.
Penna claimed that Nunes has been ducking her for a long time and she has fought her way through the division. On the other hand, Nunes was confident that she would continue her winning streak. Going into the fight Penna was the underdog.
On the fight night, both the fighters went all out and in the first round Nunes showed her dominance. As everything was going as expected, Penna bounced back in the second round and submitted the champion with a rear naked choke and gave the fight fans one of biggest upsets in UFC history.

The fight was confirmed by UFC during the live broadcast of UFC Vegas 55 on ESPN+. The fight is going to take place at UFC 277 on July 30 inside the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.
Currently both the fighters are competing against each other on the new season of The Ultimate Fighter. However, it was being assumed that after TUF both the fighters will get the opportunity of their rematch and now it’s finalised. It is going to be a massive fight as both of them are the biggest female fighters in the UFC roster.
Penna took this opportunity to share the news to her fans and followers on Instagram by posting a reel about the fight. She wrote:
“RUN IT BACK! See you all on July 30th #LFG. Shoutout to my whole team for making this possible.”
Penna has been a wonderful champion after defeating Nunes at UFC 269 and is not backing down from a challenge. The Brazilian is keen to show her capabilities and shut down her haters.
