UFC lightweight fighter Justin Gaethje is known for his exciting fighting style. He is a well-rounded fighter, but he is especially known for his punching power and cardio. He is also known for his extreme training methods and trains at ONX Sports Gym in Denver, Colorado. He is coached by legendary trainer Trevor Wittman, who uses a unique approach that focuses on training only a few fighters to give them the attention they need.

Gaethje trains alongside former welterweight champion Kamaru Usman and the two share a good friendship. Usman accompanied Gaethje on his training during a 1.8-mile run in the mountains. They both ran up the mountain while Wittman followed them in a truck. Gaethje finished the run in an impressive 16 minutes and 9 seconds but later realized that Usman had taken the wrong path during the run.

After determining that the welterweight has gone in the opposite direction, Gaethje and Wittman set out in a truck to find Usman and find him on the opposite hill. After finding him, Usman tells them that a body shot from Gaethje, who is one weight class below him, slowed him down in training. He also claims that he has been running for the first time in 8 years.

After the run, the welterweight was seen taking an ice bath to end his day of hard training. Usman is a popular figure in the MMA world and is considered one of the most dominant fighters in the UFC. He is also a role model for many young people and is known for his work ethic and dedication to his craft.

Gaethje will fight fellow lightweight Dustin Poirier for the infamous BMF belt at UFC 291. It’s not the first time the two have faced off, they fought each other back in 2018 with Poirier emerging victorious.

Fans were looking forward to some trash talk between the two fighters but will not be seeing any. Gaethje spoke about the lack of trash talk between him and “Diamond” in an interview with ESPN MMA. He said, “I mean I certainly have respect for this guy. He’s one of the best in the world. The fights that he puts on are always exciting, but he performs. And this is a phenomenal opponent, this is a fifty-fifty fight, and I would not often go into a fight saying that”.

Both Gaethje and Poirier are ranked in the top 5 of the UFC lightweight rankings. The fight between them promises fireworks and an immaculate display of striking as they are known for their striking prowess.
