The UFC 300 card edges closer every week. It is also the day when the current ‘BMF’ Justin Gaethje dukes it out with Max Holloway. ‘The Highlight’ reveres his opponent deeply, with no such rivalry for the build-up. But that does not mean he underestimates Holloway’s toughness.
In his stout 25-4 MMA, 8-4 UFC stat, 20 of Justin Gaethje’s wins come in the way of a KO/TKO. Very recently, he revealed sharing such knockdown feats with Derrick Lewis and Conor McGregor. The fighter out of the Elevation Fight Team thus meets ‘Blessed’ with the anticipation of knocking him out, but not in a conventional manner.
I will finish Max. He might not go to sleep the traditional way, but I think I will inflict enough damage…to where the doctors need to stop it…

Holloway has a strong chin. Dustin Poirier, Conor McGregor, Jose Aldo, Anthony Pettis, or Alexander Volkanovski couldn’t knock Holloway out. Hence, Gaethje wanted to pile as much damage as possible to win via doctor stoppage. Speaking to UFC on TNT, Holloway also nudged sporting a more zen-like gladiatorial approach and getting the job done.
So Gaethje is under no illusion of what Max Holloway offers. The returning 155ber is quite the consensus boxing phenom with a hard chin. So, unlike other opponents, Holloway might prove quite immune to his knockdown prowess. Another wrinkle is that Holloway has taken preparation to the next level.
Max Holloway goes viral with new training footage
Max Holloway makes his way back to the lightweight division after a whole five years. The former featherweight champion wants the BMF belt. Hence, he needs to every bit of training to overcome Justin Gaethje.
In the lead-up to the bout, Holloway has posted many snippets of his training, much like Gaethje. Aspiring to move to 155 pounds properly this time, he has put on a muscular physique. He recently also promised a visible difference at UFC 300’s upcoming weigh-ins.
While fans have remained awestruck at his physical morphing, what engages them more is his sparring skills. Check out his latest footage below –
One must note that Holloway stopped sparring entirely to avoid permanent damage to the brain. Only a few times since 2019 has he sparred before a fight. As such, the fighter is prepping for a war against Gaethje. Only more sparring can impact Holloway positively before he faces a juggernaut in Gaethje.
