“Name of the game”- Justin Gaethje reacts to his loss against Charles Oliveira at the main event of UFC 274
Charles Oliveira vs Justin Gaethje at UFC 274
At UFC 274, Charles Oliveira came back from the octagon floor to submit Justin Gaethje in the first round.
After being labelled a ‘quitter’ by the American in the build-up to their fight, the Brazilian proved otherwise, diving deep to send Gaethje flying backwards before rushing on him and completing his 17th UFC submission.
In the UFC 274 main event, Oliveira caused Justin Gaethje to tap out in less than a round. Despite the win, Oliveira’s championship was stripped from him because he failed to make weight for the bout. It’s a terrible way to lose a title by losing it on the scale, but it doesn’t look he’ll be without it for long.
Oliveira is now the No. 1 contender for the vacant lightweight title, and he will face the next challenger for the undisputed title at a later date.
“Hey Dana White, I don’t care,” he said when asked who he wants to fight for the championship. “You may put anyone in front of me. “Are you coming up or are you going to run away, Conor McGregor?”

“Appreciate all the Love, Congrats to Charles”- Justin Gaethje humbly accepts defeat against Charles Oliveira
Post his defeat, Justin Gethje took to Twitter to react to his defeat. He stated, “Name of the game. Appreciate all the love. Congrats to”
Justin seems in good spirits as he has responded to the loss well. Simultaneously he has no other option as he was very critical of Olivera prior to bout making outlandish claims. He referred to Olivera’s previous losses as a young fighter. He made a remark which seems highly ironic now, he stated, “Once a quitter, always a quitter” .
He also believed that Olivera would have to take him down to beat him and that is the only way he can beat him but in reality, Olivera stood toe-to-toe and dropped Justin to the point he was forced to expose to the world he has no Jujitsu pedigree once again.
Justin fell short to win the World title again. One may make a case he didn’t deserve the world title shot but considering his minimal odds against Olivera that narration wasn’t blaring.
It is established that Justin is not championship material, His skillset is very narrow, he has failed to show any Jujitsu Skills while he brags about his wrestling he has never attempted to take anyone down in UFC and although his striking has found some success he still gets hit and mostly throws loads of Haymakers which does not usually get connected when faced against top competition.
He’s a brawler and brawlers don’t usually win world titles. One can only speculate if Justin can be an exception. Till then, one can sit down and watch the cards unfold.
