There is no doubt that UFC superstar and former double-champ Conor McGregor is one of the biggest draws of the UFC. Any top-ranked UFC fighter would be ready to take a fight against McGregor as it promises a huge payday. That is not the case with newly crowned BMF champion Justin Gaethje. Gaethje believes that he will end McGregor’s career if they ever meet.
Gaethje is present in Australia for UFC 293 and expressed his wish during the UFC 30-year press conference. He was asked about his thoughts on McGregor calling him out after his impressive title win at UFC 291. Gaethje replied, “I would be lying if I said that I haven’t dreamt of ending his career”. He wants to make sure that McGregor never steps back in the ring after he fights him.
Gaethje went on to mention that Michael Chandler was the second opponent that McGregor will be facing that he defeated. When asked about his first title defense, Gaethje said that he wants McGregor as he is adamant about shutting him down. He also wants to shut down the fans of McGregor as he does not want to hear his rival’s praise.
The “Highlight” did appreciate the fact that McGregor is a crowd-puller and a potential fight will earn him a big payday. Gaethje is very clear in his feelings about McGregor and wants to defeat him to add to his legacy. Fans will look forward to seeing a potential fight between the two.
