“Who drags other guy’s body out”- Kamaru Usman offers a gruesome prediction for his boxing match against Canelo Alvarez
Kamaru Usman and Canelo Alvarez
The UFC welterweight champion and ESPN’s No. 1 pound-for-pound mixed martial, Kamaru Usman artist revealed he wants to fight Canelo Alvarez in a boxing bout in the future.
It may be advertised as a first-time bout between the best pound-for-pound MMA fighter and the best pound-for-pound boxer in their primes, according to Usman.
In an interview, he stated, “I think that’s something that [would be] the biggest ever in history. That’s what I’m looking to do. That’s something that scares me. That’s something that gets me up in the morning. That’s something that I might risk leaving my daughter for another 12 weeks for.”
The concept of UFC welterweight champion Kamaru Usman boxing Saul “Canelo” Alvarez has been criticized by Dana White as “dumb” and “awful.” Usman, who has defeated Jorge Masvidal and Colby Covington twice each in his previous five fights while maintaining his welterweight title, appears to be looking for a new test in the shape of a crossover battle with Mexican Alvarez, who is a multiple-weight world champion.
However, UFC president White has shot down the proposal, sending a warning to Usman. “It’s a stupid fight to make, it makes no sense. I don’t know how many people would be interested in seeing that. When Conor and Floyd fought, it took on a life of its own. Everywhere I went, people asked me if those two are going to fight. Something could come along, but the whole boxing vs MMA thing is silly.”

Canelo Alvarez, according to Usman, will earn the largest fight pay of his career if he fights him. Before heading to UFC 274 to support his ONX colleagues Justin Gaethje and Rose Namajunas, the welterweight champion spoke to the press. The subject of his bout against boxing champion Canelo was brought up once more.
In the pre-fight interview, Kamaru stated, “I’m courageous enough to step in there and do your sport because you’re not man enough to step over here and do this sport. Lock us both in a room, I’ll let you guys decide who drags the other guy’s dead body out of the room.”
He further stated, “You know at the end of the day… You know it is what it is, Canelo is the best pound-for-pound boxer. I am the best pound-for-pound mixed-martial-artist. I’m the best pound-for-pound fighter on the planet. And so I was courageous enough to want to challenge myself in that way. And he’s not. And the only thing he can say is payday.”
