Kamaru Usman has been pushing for his fight against Boxing Star Canelo Alvarez since last year. Kamaru has even called out Canelo on social media, and both the fighters had a back and forth on Twitter. Usman recently talked about his striking skills and said that he doesn’t understand why people doubt his call out to Canelo.

Many fighters and personalities have warned Usman against a boxing match with Canelo and many believe that it might not end well for the Nigerian fighter. Recently UFC heavyweight Champ Francis Ngannou has also expressed his desire to fight Tyson Fury in a boxing match and UFC fighters, it seems, are looking for cross-over rights to earn more.

UFC president Dana White has also expressed his disapproval of crossover fights and has completely rejected the idea of UFC fighters fighting against Boxers in an exhibition match. Canelo is currently the #1 pound for pound best boxer and Usman is the #1 pound for pound best fighter in the UFC. Usman feels the matchup is perfect and it would be a much different fight than Conor McGregor vs Floyd

Talking in his interview with The Pat McAfee Show said: “Let’s be honest, people knew kind of what was going to happen just because Conor was just that guy, and then you’re fighting a guy like Floyd who doesn’t get hit. I don’t care who you are. Professional boxers just won’t hit him. He’s not one of those guys who’s going to just stand there and trade punches with you to where you have a shot. He’s just not that guy. Now that was that scenario. That’s why that was so big. These guys could talk.”

Kamaru Usman believes the situation between him and Canelo is different because they will actually trade punches instead of running away Usman said: “When you have the pound-for-pound boxer on the planet at the moment where he’s going to stand there, he’s going to bang, he’s going to fight,”

Many fighters like Daniel Cormier and jake paul have warned Usman about his fight against Canelo and have even asked him to not take the fight. Many fighters believe that Usman is no match for Canelo’s striking and that Canelo is superior to Usman in terms of “throwing hands”

Usman reacted to these claims in his recent interview and said he doesn’t understand why everyone doubts his striking.

Kamaru Usman pointed out his knockout against Jorge Masvidal in their rematch and pointed out that Masvidal was known as one of the best strikers in MMA before their fight. Usman seems confused as people think Canelo can outstrike him in boxing and that he would be outclassed completely by Canelo.

Reacting to such claims, Kamaru Usman said: “After I went out there and dealt with Gilbert Burns, I got him back and said, ‘Masvidal, you’re next. I’ll give you another shot. I’ll give you a full camp and I’m knocking your head to the moon this time.’ Everyone said, ‘Masvidal’s the best boxer in MMA.’ I sent him to the shadow realm. I think he’s still up there.”

Canelo has lost his latest fight against Dmitry Bivol and it would be interesting to see what the future holds for both fighters. Canelo has rejected Usman’s call for a fight, but a fight between Canelo and Usman is guaranteed to be an exciting fight.
