Kevin Holland is the toast of Texas, alongside Derrick Lewis. He acts like the crusader everyone deserve, swooping in and stopping acts of crime. When not stopping robbers, he also gives out the currently super-expensive fuel to citizens.
Inside the octagon, however, things have been up and down recently.
In 2020, Kevin Holland tied the record for most wins in a year – 5. In 2021, however, his move to take on more competitive middleweights did not go according to plan – he was bested by Derek Brunson, Marvin Vettori and drew with Kyle Daukaus.
Many fans believed that it was too much, too quick. Since then, he has moved down a division, and it has paid dividends for the California native. In 2022 alone, he has beat Alex Oliveira and Tim Means. Clearly, the move has paid off till now.

In what is the hot scoop from yesterday, Dana White cancelled the UFC 279 presser at the last moment owing to the security being compromised, in a bid to control a massive scuffle that broke out between four of the six fighters in the press conference, and their teams.
What has come out till now is Khamzat Chimaev fighting Kevin Holland, which spread to Nate Diaz and his team as well. In the crossfire, Paulo Costa and Darren Till got caught with a bunch of fake headlines which accused them of heating things up. However, there does exist a video of Till arguing with Holland. There is no visible violence involved in the video.
This week, multiple fighters have taken shots at Khamzat Chimaev’s supposed sharm-like character. That is, fighters like Paulo Costa believe that the UFC is pushing the narrative of all-out brawler onto Chimaev, who is falling short in living it out accurately.
After breaking off the scuffle, Kevin Holland and Daniel Rodriguez walked out bereft of the fighters to keep everything in control, and answer the media and the fans’ questions. In a short presser, Kevin Holland and Daniel Rodriguez answered a few questions regarding fighting each other. However, in a bombshell, when ending the interview, Holland dropped the line, “Don’t believe guys when they tell you they’re gangsters, they’re wearing make up” which is most definitely a jab at Chimaev.

The two have had intense beef coming into this fight. Maybe, at some point in the near future, the two can face off against each other in the octagon, either at 170 or 185 pounds. That ought to settle things.
