Kevin Holland uses a distinctive style of words and phrases during his interviews. His fighting style consists of unusual movement, striking skills, and confidence. Holland is also known for his edgy views and comments. In an interview with Michael Bisping, he shared his thoughts about Ian Garry‘s impressive performance at UFC 292. Holland clearly believed the UFC had a bias toward fighters of Irish origin.

Holland praised Garry for getting a dominant win against a veteran like Neil Magny. However, he also mentioned how Irish stars took the center of attention in the promotion. Conor McGregor remains the best example of Holland’s statement. “UFC says they have a blueprint for these guys to be something special, when they have the Irish accent. So I think he’s on his way, I think he’s going to be wonderful,” Holland said.

Holland currently ranks 13th in the welterweight division, two ranks below Garry. The Trailblazer recently defeated Michael Chiesa via submission. For Garry, the win against Magny was an important one. The victory proved that he could hang in with the top contenders of the division. Both Holland and Garry are known for their trash-talking. The duo could meet inside the octagon in the future.

UFC star Kevin Holland is a tough opponent for all welterweights. His unorthodox fighting style with precise striking remains a dangerous combination. The Trailblazer is also known for regularly showing up to fights and taking bouts on short notice. After his consecutive losses to Khamzat Chimaev and Stephen Thompson, he found his rhythm in the welterweight division.

He put on excellent performances against Santiago Ponzinibbio and Michael Chiesa. Holland will now face Jack Della Maddalena in September. Maddalena has an MMA record of 14 wins with two losses. He has not lost a single bout since his UFC debut. Holland will need to be at his best to maintain his winning streak. Holland has come a long way after getting destroyed by Chimaev.

Both fighters need to win to climb up the welterweight rankings. Della Maddalena has some of the best boxing in the welterweight division. Holland needs to use his wrestling to put pressure on JDM.
