Kevin Holland and Jorge Masvidal recently had an altercation at the fighter hotel. With only a few days remaining for UFC 287, both the fighters nearly came to blows, almost risking the entire event. To make things worse both the fighters had an altercation the second time around as well. The reasons behind the two separate altercations were very unclear to the fight fans. However, Kevin Holland later disclosed the details of this altercation.

Jorge Masvidal is set to fight Gilbert Burns at UFC 287 and Kevin Holland is set to go up against Santiago Ponzinibbio. The first altercation took place before the press event and the second one after the weigh-ins. Clearly, both fighters could not contain themselves. According to Holland, there was a bit of confusion between the fighters in the past and things turned out like this now.

“I guess a while back when I fought in Florida I was fighting Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson. Somehow, someway, somebody said I was going to the event to cause problems,”. “ Somehow, someway, it turned out to be another story. I don’t really give a f—k”, said Holland in his interview with the Schmo. “Now all of a sudden dude’s got feelings. So when I seen him I said, ‘What’s up, baby girl?’ Next thing you know he started Pmsing. I don’t really think it’s that special of a story to keep underneath the rug or maybe they’re just trying to use it for another time, but shit you’re my man so now you know,” added Holland.

Due to Kevin Holland, we have some clarity on why things might have gotten heated. This, however, is not the first time both fighters have gotten into altercations. Jorge Masvidal has his altercation with’ Edwards’ at the O2 arena and Holland had a scuffle with Khamzat Chimaev. Luckily both Jorge Masvidal and Kevin Holland fight in the welterweight division so maybe UFC can book a fight for the future.

Kevin Holland got into an altercation with Jorge Masvidal with mere days left for UFC 287. Both the fighters almost risked getting the event cancelled. However, getting into an altercation is not new for both fighters. Now, almost everyone is aware of the O2 altercation between Jorge Masvidal and Leon Edwards. But the altercation between Kevin Holland, Khamzat Chimaev and Nate Diaz was so big it lead to UFC 279 press conference being cancelled.

According to people who witnessed this incident, Chimaev initiated it when he kicked Holland backstage. But why did Chimaev kick Holland? Turns out during the weeks leading up to UFC 279 both fighters exchanged insults on interviews and social media. Holland and Chimaev also nearly got into an altercation at UFC Vegas 21 in 2021. After the Holland and Chimaev altercation there was also some altercation between Diaz and Chimaev’s camp. Water bottles were thrown and some words were exchanged.

According to Dana White, lack of security was the issue. There were enough people to deal with two fighters in a scuffle. However, what they weren’t prepared for was everybody getting into a fight. “This is what we do,” White said. “It is the business that we’re in, the fight business. These things happen,” said Dana explaining the situation. Then one thing led to another and Dana White had to cancel the whole press conference.
