Khabib Nurmagomedov might be one of the most unintentionally funny people on the entire planet. This may be a product of his broken English as the superstar has a Fedor-like stone-cold demeanor every time he speaks in Russian. But as long as the Eagle converses in English you will likely have a light-hearted moment.
Tony Ferguson knows Khabib Nurmagomedov all too well, thanks to almost half a decade of will they-won’t they matchmaking. In fact Tony’s and Khabib’s careers have even been interlinked to a creepy extent. A few months after the downfall of Tony Ferguson started is when Khabib Nurmagomedov finally decided to forever quit the sport due to the death of his father.
Being the competitor Tony is, his 5 canceled bouts against Nurmagomedov obviously haunt him with him never having gained closure over the affair. This is evident by his frequent call-outs of Nurmagomedov even as he drops of the Lightweight top five. Maybe it was Tony realizing he was in the twilight of his career or a last-ditch hail Mary attempt by the boogeyman that prompted him to challenge Nurmagomedov to coach a season of the Ultimate Fighter against him to settle their differences.

Khabib Nurmagomedov brutalizes Tony Ferguson in response to TUF Call Out
This was an idea unanimously praised by the fans, Khabib’s manager, Khabib himself and the only one who can green light it, Dana White. In a recent interview, Dana showed his eagerness in making it happen and his comic intentions to use it as a backdoor to get Khabib back in the UFC. However after the initial reactions, there were few if any responses from the Khabib camp.
This promted Tony to call out the former Lightweight champion referring to him as “Khabieber” a play on Khabib Justin Beiber, asking him if he was done with his world tour yet. Tony then said, “It’s time to make some real noise a face a real coach challenge” while also referring to the former champion as “fatty”
Today Khabib responded to the 2 day-old tweet, with a simple and hilarious message. As we know Tony Ferguson suffered the first KO loss of his career when he was knocked out by a magnificent front kick at the hands (or legs) of Michael Chandler during their bout at UFC 274.
Khabib alluded to the incident while responding to Ferguson’s doubts regarding the delay. He said, ” I was waiting for you to wake up” a terrifying statement when you imagine Khabib saying that with a straight face. How do you think the banter between the two will play out if they were to face off against each other as coaches.
