“Go to his home and finish him” – Khabib Nurmagomedov picks Brazil as ideal venue for Charles Oliveira vs Islam Makhachev title fight

Khabib Nurmagomedov has no doubt in his mind that he wants Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira to fight. Not the USA, not the UAE, Khabib prefers Islam to beat Oliveira in his home of Brazil.

Khabib Nurmagomedov has been cornering Islam Makhachev forever and the time has finally come where The Eagle can watch his childhood friend live his dream of becoming the world MMA champion. Islam is the favorite to take on Charles Oliveira for the vacant lightweight title. Oliveira was recently stripped from the title owing to his weigh-in mishap in his previous fight.

After Oliveira’s recent dominance in the lightweight division, every MMA fan now wants to see if the Brazilian can pass the test of Islam Makhachev. Charles and Islam are on 11 fights and 10 fights winning streak respectively and there is no better way to find out who the king of the 155-pound division is other than the two fight each other for the lightweight title.

Like many fans, Khabib Nurmagomedov wants to see “do Bronx” fight in his home of Brazil. While Islam has shown interest in fighting for the title in Abu Dhabi, his teammate Khabib would like to differ. “I’m very serious, if you ask me – if they let me choose the location, I am gonna choose Brazil,” said Khabib talking to Brett Okamoto of ESPN MMA.

“If they let us choose the location, I am gonna choose Brazil,” said Khabib. “I really want Islam to finish Charles Oliveira in his home. It is very good for your legacy. When you got to someone’s home, finish him, take his belt, and go back. People are going to talk about this even after 50 years because this is history.”

Khabib has already cemented his legacy as one of the greatest to ever do it in the UFC. Now, the UFC Hall-of-Famer is rooting for his longtime friend, Islam Makhachev to shape his career into one of the best ever. Nurmagomedov is very confident that Makhachev can beat Oliveira and bring the belt back home.
