Khabib Nurmagomedov is considered the greatest lightweight of all time. The Dagestani fighter took over the lightweight division of the UFC and set standards that not many can meet. The fighter’s undefeated record of 29-0 is a dream for many fighters and Khabib finally got inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame, which is the cherry on top of his decorated fighting career.

“I supposed to fight in Nashville, Tennesse. And I didn’t have visa and they call me, you have to go to Moscow, tomorrow you have to be in U.S. embassy. January 6th, I’m like, ‘When? Tomorrow? Okay.’ I tried to buy tickets, no tickets,” said Khabib during his Hall of Fame speech. This story took place right before Khabib’s debut in the UFC in January 2012.
“No flights because I’ve to fly almost three hours from Dagestan to Moscow. And I used my connection and you know how I fly? I flied in cabin with pilots. They put like small chair. It was my crazy experience, you know. But I flied with pilots because all of Dagestan was waiting for my debut,” Khabib laughed off his past experience to fight in the UFC.
Khabib, to date, is one of the biggest global superstars the world of MMA has seen. He is famous all around the world and is untouchable in the region of Dagestan, Russia. Many believe Khabib Nurmagomedov to be the most famous Muslim athlete of all time.
