“Leave me alone stupid guy,” Khabib Nurmagomedov slams Tony Ferguson in response to an interview with Daniel Cormier
Tony Ferguson- Khabib Nurmagomedov
Looks like Tony Ferguson will extend his trash-talking over retired, undefeated ex-UFC Lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov till the end of his career and Khabib seems to be really upset about it now. Ferguson and Khabib were the two biggest names in the UFC’s lightweight division at one point in time, two names that were meant to be inside the Octagon for a treat of a fight for the fans on 5 different occasions, but never did the fight happened for several reasons.
While Nurmagomedov retired back in 2020 after winning his last fight against Justin Gaethje, Ferguson seems to be way past his prime time now and is unfortunately on a 3-fight skid. When Nurmagomedov was a promising upcoming undefeated mixed martial artist mauling through contenders with his exceptional wrestling arsenal, Ferguson was on an eye-catching winning streak that ended with 12 fights of total domination.
Khabib Nurmagomedov throws brutal facts over Tony Ferguson’s recent record
Now both the fighters are in their separate ways, while Ferguson is still looking to get back to the winning column in order to get the undisputed belt he once became the interim champion for, Khabib is now the owner of a Russian mixed martial arts promotion by the name of Eagle FC.
However, recently, Ferguson is giving interviews ahead of his fight against Michael Chandler at UFC 274, and one of those interviews happen to be with Khabib’s teammate and retired MMA legend himself, Daniel Cormier. Ferguson and Cormier had a little bit of back and forth based on the fantasy fight between Ferguson and Khabib and the bad blood that was already there.
Cormier decided to promote the interview by uploading just a glance of it on his Instagram and in the comment section, came Khabib commenting “Last 3 years, Tony has not won a single round in the UFC. Leave me alone and focus on yourself stupid guy.“
What do you make of this response from Khabib for Ferguson that most possibly shows signs of irritability with the last line? Do you think the fight between Khabib and Ferguson is still possible? It was not long ago when Khabib’s manager Ali Abdelaziz was proposing a grappling match between the two under the Eagle FC banner. Would you like to see that happening, who do you think would win that?
