Khabib Nurmagomedov is one of the most prominent names in the world of MMA. Two years after his retirement, the fighter is still often discussed when it comes to comparing fighters’ performances.

During his time in the UFC, Khabib was a force of nature and went through all his opponents without even bleeding once. His undefeated career speaks for itself but there is so much that went behind all the success the Dagestani got at the highest level. One of the main reasons was his father and legendary sambo coach, Abdulmanap. It was his input that helped Khabib Nurmagomedov become the dominant fighter he was in the UFC.

Nurmagomedov trained Khabib and his other students together since they were kids and adopted a way of life that was based on discipline and determination. The former lightweight champion often mentioned his respect for his father and how he helped him have a champion mindset.
