Chechen superstar Khamzat Chimaev is known to be friends with dictator Ramzan Kadyrov and has praised him multiple times in the past too. Chimaev has posted photos and videos of him training with the dictator on his social media. He has recently come under scrutiny for “babysitting” Kadyrov’s son Dustum Kadyrov on Instagram. Chimaev is good friends with Dustum.

On Instagram, Chimaev’s followers criticize his friendship with Dustum and express concern for his professional future. According to one supporter, Kadyrov’s people are in charge of “Borz’s” page and they won’t be shocked if he is prohibited from competing in American fights because of his ties to this family Fans feel this way as Kadyrov has been accused of human rights abuse.

Chimaev shared a picture of himself and the dictator’s son on Instagram, suggesting that they may have been at a shooting range. Kadyrov and Chimaev have frequently been spotted together, and Chimaev has praised Kadyrov on social media. In December 2022, Chimaev posted a picture of himself with Kadyrov and referred to him as his “big brother.” Additionally, he shared pictures of himself with Kadyrov’s two sons.

Some have criticized Chimaev’s friendship with Kadyrov, claiming that it legitimizes Kadyrov’s regime. He is gearing up to fight Paulo Costa in his official middleweight debut at UFC 294. The fight between Chimaev and Costa is expected to be explosive. Chimaev is the bigger fighter with a greater reach advantage. He is also a more versatile fighter, capable of both striking and grappling.
