“Let’s make it”- Khamzat Chimaev calls upon the UFC to set up a fight between him and Alex Pereira

Khamzat Chimaev is up for taking down Alex Pereira in his next octagon appearance. Alex Pereira recently made his UFC debut and after three fights he is already the #4 ranked fighter in the middleweight division. At UFC 276, Pereira fought Sean Strickland and put forward an amazing performance. Being an unranked fighter and going against a top-five fighter was a massive task. Before the fight, Strickland mocked Pereira for having no striking and other MMA skills to compete at this level. But in reality, Pereira dropped the American in the very first round with a nasty Knockout punch.

Pereira showed his value and proved that he belongs in the top-tier middleweights of the world. After the fight, the fighter wasted no time but to challenge Israel Adesanya for a title fight. In the main event of UFC 276, Izzy defended his title against Jared Cannonier and in the post-fight interview accepted the challenge made by Pereira.

After UFC 276, Chimaev took to Twitter to make an unexpected move which shocked the fight fans.

The ‘ Borz’ directly made a call-out and revealed his intentions to fight Pereira next. The fighter also tagged UFC president, Dana White and asked him to make the fight official. He wrote :

I’m want to fight with this guy @ufc @danawhite let’s make it ???

Chimaev is known for making outrageous call-outs to anybody he sees on the UFC roster. The Swedish is obsessed with fighting and has shown no hesitation in going inside the ring with anybody. However, the call-out was extremely abrupt given that Chimaev is not even a middleweight fighter. It’s true that Chimaev can easily make the weight and will be comfortable fighting at 185 lbs but it will still be a very tough task to go against an elite striker like Pereira.

Considering the fact that Chimaev is currently ranked #3 in the welterweight division and is very close to the title shot, it’s not a wise idea for him to fight the Brazilian.
