Khamzat Chimaev says Nate Diaz is ducking him

Khamzat Chimaev is confident that UFC superstar Nate Diaz is ducking a fight against him. The two stars have been going at each other on social media for quite some time, but the “Borz” has finally come out and revealed what went down behind the scenes between the two fighters.

Khamzat Chimaev vs Nate Diaz has been one of the most anticipated matchups. From the UFC president Dana White dropping hints to Khamzat himself going out on Twitter to call the Stockton superstar out, the entire MMA world was positive that this super fight would happen. Stockton fighter Nate on the other hand has come out and blamed Khamzat for not fighting Diaz on the proposed date and even called the Swedish fighter “scared”.

In a recent show “BLOCKPARTY” for the NFT company, Blockasset, Khamzat came out to the show to talk about the details of the deal between him and Nate. The undefeated MMA star is confident that the veteran will turn down any fight offers coming his way. At this point, Khamzat has gotten over the idea of fighting a Diaz brother and is looking to fight a top contender that would help him seal his spot for the welterweight belt.

“No. It has never been close. The skinny boy, when I said let’s fight, I was good weight, good shape, and now I been lifting weights and have gone up three kilos. Now he says let’s fight,” Khamzat said on the Blockparty podcast about Nate.

Whether the Diaz brother is ready or not, Khamzat says that he will begin his weight cut for a possible fight in October or sooner. “I don’t care, I am going to cut my weight and fight him if he’s ready. I’ll smash that boy. He won’t be the same Diaz anymore,” Khamzat made a bold statement. Though Diaz is not among the top-ranked fighters, No. 3 ranked Chimaev sees the good in fighting a superstar like him for a huge sum of money.

“The Daiz fight is good but the skinny boy is scared and he didn’t answer,” said Khamzat. If Nate is not an option for him, Khamzat is ready to take on the #5 ranked Belal Muhammad to whom he has also agreed to fight. Khamzat’s plan was to fight the Diaz brother and then take on Belal in 2022. “We will see. Belal said yes. I don’t care. I’ll fight everyone. Let Leon [Edwards] fight with [Kamaru] Usman, who wins there, I’ll go for his head. I’ll take his head and take the money.”
