“I like that guy”- Khamzat Chimaev corrects Nate Diaz’s misconception that the rising star doesn’t like him
Khamzat Chimaev- Nate Diaz
Nate Diaz is all set to fight Khamzat Chimaev. Diaz made an appearance on The MMA Hour to request a fight so that he could fulfill his current contract and pursue other combat sports opportunities. He accused the UFC of holding him “hostage” by threatening him with more lucrative contract offers rather than booking the fight. He also described a meeting in which White pitched several fights before abruptly leaving after declining a new contract. Diaz claimed that after realizing he’d been dumped, he urinated on the building’s lawn.
Diaz speculated that the UFC was holding him under contract in order for him to complete a trilogy with his rival and two-time opponent, Conor McGregor. White did not deny the possibility of a third meeting but stated that it was not offered between 2020 and now due to McGregor’s broken leg.

Chimaev addressed Diaz’s recent comments during a recent interview on The MMA Hour with Ariel Helwani. In which he stated, “Nate, he said like, ‘He doesn’t like me, I don’t like him,’ this type of stuff. I like that guy, “I (grew) up on him, you know? I was in school when he was fighting in the UFC. It’s amazing to fight that guy, and I like him.”
Diaz’s contract expires after this fight, and he has expressed no interest in signing a new deal with the promotion. He has not, however, ruled out a return to the UFC in the future.
