The two have been trading insults on social media since their strange confrontation at UFC PI last year. Chimaev naturally responded furiously and basically had to be kept away from attacking Costa during the argument.

Paulo Costa had recently taken jibes on Khamzat’s physique. Paulo Costa made fun of Khamzat Chimaev by referring to himself as “Chad” and referring to Chimaev as a “virgin” in a comical meme post.

Chimaev can grow natural hair and chooses to be bald, Costa is naturally turning bald and transplants hair“, a fan commented on the post. In response to the meme, Khamzat Chimaev posted a picture of the Brazilian mocking him for his appearance. The video is a screenshot from the promotional video the clinic posted where Costa got his hair transplant. The post quickly gains traction on social media and went viral. “Hello everyone”, Chimaev wrote with a laughing emoji.

Khamzat Chimaev has been vocal about his intention of venturing into the middleweight division. Khamzat wants to be a multi-division champion and complains about the lack of suitable opponents in his current division.

The Swedish walks around undefeated with a 12-0 record in the welterweight division. Khamzat last fought in September against Kevin Holland whom he defeated in the first round via submission. Former middleweight champion Alex Pereira claimed that Chimaev declined a 205-pound match that was scheduled to take place at UFC 283. Chimaev refuted the claim stating that it was the UFC who had shot down the idea.

Pereira was asked about what he thought about fighters like Robert Whittaker, Jon Jones, etc. whom he all respected with high regard. But Alex Pereira did not have many nice words for Khamzat Chimaev. When asked about the Swedish fighter, he responded, “Dog’s A**hole”. Since Alex Pereira became champion, Khamzat Chimaev and Pereira have frequently faced off. Even so, Pereira challenged Chimaev to a contest at light heavyweight. Now that Adesanya dethroned the ‘Poatan’ in UFC 287, will Chimaev still go after Pereira or will he focus on the new champion instead?
