Colby Covington, at UFC 286 Media appearance, ranted against Khamzat Chimaev. The media asked Colby if he was willing to fight Chimaev. Colby did not like the question and accused Chimaev of being “Unprofessional.” Chimaev has come out on his Youtube Channel to respond to the accusations.

Chimaev said, “Colby is lying. I swear, with everything I have. I accept the fight four times. To all the Muslims, I swear with Quran. I get call four times to fight. But it never happened.” It appears Chimaev denies all the accusations Colby threw at him. Fight fans have been clamouring for a fight between the two. But that will have to wait as Colby Covington got the next title shot against Leon Edwards.

Khamzat Chimaev has not fought since his victory over Kevin Holland at UFC 279. Chimaev is an undefeated fighter and will now compete in the Middleweight division, according to Dana White. He is rumoured to fight the top guys in Middleweight. Chimaev talked about Colby on his Youtube Channel.

Colby Covington has not fought since his dominant victory over Jorge Masvidal at UFC 272. He got into a street altercation with Masvidal and was not seen for a year. He surprised everyone in London when he weighed in as the Backup fighter for the Title fight.

Is Khamzat Chimaev vs Marvin Vettori next?

Dana White recently said that Khamzat Chimaev will now fight in the Middleweight division next. There are a lot of potential matchups for Chimaev, like Robert Whittaker and Paulo Costa, but one fighter could ideally be the next one to challenge Chimaev for his Middleweight return. He is none other than Marvin Vettori.

Vettori is ranked No. 4 in the Middleweight division. Chimaev is likely to fight the top contenders in the division. Hence, a Marvin Vettori fight makes sense. French Media Outlet MMA Time believes Vettori could fight Chimaev for the Abu Dhabi PPV card in October.

Vettori recently returned to the winning column after a decision victory over a dangerous Roman Dolidze. Chimaev has not fought since his victory at UFC 279. Soon, UFC will book a fight for Chimaev, and fight fans are anxiously waiting to see who is next for Chimaev.
