Khamzat Chimaev wants to demolish Paulo Costa in their upcoming UFC 294 clash. After a year of hiatus, Chimaev is finally scheduled to fight Costa in October. It was a great match-up by UFC given that both fighters have bad blood for each other.
Recently, Khamzat did an interview with TNT Sports and mentioned that he will make Costa shed his tears inside the octagon. When asked about his long gap from fighting, Chimaev revealed that everybody was scared of fighting him but he was ready to take on any challenge.
He said: “Make that guy cry, you know. In the cage, like I always do. I make everyone scare. Usman says he’s a boogieman and all these guys think about me, when it comes to that fight they have some surgeries done problems. I fight with everybody.” Responding to this Costa released a video of laughing out loud on his official Instagram handel, watch the video here:
In his last fight against Kevin Holland, Chimaev had light work and defeated Holland in the very first round. Costa will also fight a year after defeating Luke Rockhold in August of 2022. Fans are very excited about the fight and it will be interesting to see how Costa deals with the wrestling and striking of Chimaev.
Colby Covington isn’t sure about Khamzat Chimaev and Paolo Costa fighting at UFC 294
While the hype around the Khamzat Chimaev and Paulo Costa fight is massive, former UFC Welterweight title contender Colby Covington doesn’t think the fighters will show up.
Covington recently did an interview with Submission Radio and was asked about the fight between Chimaev and Costa and given the history between him and the ‘Borz’, Covington didn’t have anything positive to say.
“Dude, just, let’s just see if they can get to the cage first. Those guys are some of the biggest jokers in the sport. Just, complete fakes, frauds. That’s why someone like me… The reason I’m in the good graces of the UFC is because I’m a company man. I’m gonna show up every time. I’m a professional.” said ‘Chaos’.
Covington called Costa and Chimaev the biggest jokers in the sport and very unprofessional. He also mentioned that he’s a company man and always shows up when required, unlike others.
