Khamzat Chimaev is one of the most ferocious fighters in the UFC. The undefeated Chechen recently fought Kamaru Usman at UFC 294 in the co-main event. He won the fight via majority decision and thereby cemented his status as the number one contender at middleweight.

Chimaev recently underwent surgery on his wrist which he suffered during his fight with Usman. Moreover, he recently hinted at a fight with Israel Adesanya at UFC 300. However, a new X post from Chimaev caused worry among the fans. The post showed a visibly sick Chimaev and this made fans speculate that Chimaev contracted Measles, a contagious viral infection.

Dana White had earlier promised a title shot for Chimaev at middleweight. However, White recently announced a middleweight title fight between champion Sean Strickland and Dricus Du Plessis. Fans speculate that the winner of the bout would get Chimaev as Dana White had already promised it. However, White has not further clarified the stance on Chimaev and the middleweight title picture.

Chimaev is one of the fan favourite fighters in the UFC with many touting him to be the best first-round fighter ever. He has a huge fan following in the Middle East and Caucasus region. With victories over Gilbert Burns, Kevin Holland, and Kamaru Usman on his resume, Chimaev notably rose to the ranks in the UFC.

Khamzat Chimaev’s recent social media post did not go unnoticed by fight fans on social media. Even though Chimaev has since deleted the post, fight fans still circulate the post wary of the undefeated fighters’ health status. Chimaev has not fought since UFC 294. Moreover, there are rumors of him fighting at UFC 300. However, neither the UFC nor Dana White has made any official confirmation regarding it.
