Khamzat Chimaev is currently making waves as he has cut his ties with Sweden and will fight from the UAE from now on. Chimaev was originally born in Chechnya, Russia, but at the age of 18, he relocated to Sweden with his mother and older brother. In 2017, Chimaev began his training at the Allstars gym in Stockholm and subsequently represented Sweden in his UFC fights.
However, it seems like that relationship has come to an end. Following this, the fighter received severe backlash from fight fans regarding disowning Sweden and choosing to represent UAE for money. However, Borz has now cleared the air around it. Recently, the fighter posted a picture with Ramzan Kadyrov after a training session. In the caption, Chimaev wrote, “I represent my team akhmat MMA, the best in the world, I want to thank them so much for all their support.”
Established in 2014, FCA is a professional sports organization hailing from the Chechen Republic. It has training facilities located in various regions of Russia and takes its name from Akhmat Kadyrov, the inaugural president of the Chechen Republic within Russia.
The MMA gym, Fight Club Akhmat, has recently gained immense popularity. It boasts a roster of highly skilled fighters, including notable names like Magomed Ankalaev, Albert Duraev, and Said Nurmagomedov, who proudly represent the gym in the prestigious UFC organization. These fighters have showcased their talent and dedication, making Fight Club Akhmat a renowned institution in the world of mixed martial arts.
