Khamzat Chimaev uses VIRAL meme reference to troll rival Paulo Costa ahead of super fight at UFC 294

Khamzat Chimaev is arguably the most violent fighter in the UFC. All his fights have been extremely brutal and he holds a clean MMA record of 12 wins and no losses. Six of those twelve wins have been through knockouts. He currently ranks 4th in the welterweight division. Chimaev’s last fight was in 2022 at UFC 279. His next fight has been scheduled against Paulo Costa, in the middleweight division. The two fighters have recently been battling each other on the internet.

Chimaev has now gone ahead and used a meme template to mock Costa. The viral meme has Costa’s image on a tombstone with another edited image of Borz showing the peace sign. A direct reference to how Chimaev intends to keep his undefeated record intact. Both fighters are known for their trash-talking and provocative activities to promote fights.

Chimaev has terrific takedown techniques that put him well above other fighters. His physical features themselves are an advantage against other welterweights. Though this has sometimes led to him not being able to make weight cuts. Chimaev last fought at catchweight against Kevin Holland. Costa too is a celebrated fighter and has defeated legends like Yoel Romero and Luke Rockhold.

The middleweight bout between the two will take place during UFC 294. The main event is going to be the rematch between Islam Makhachev and Charles Oliveira. Fight fans will also have their eyes on the two middleweight fighters.

Can Khamzat Chimaev handle the Nigerian Nightmare?

With six wins in the UFC and twelve in his MMA career, Khamzat Chimaev is yet to taste defeat. Known for his violent approach and incredible strength Chimaev was widely feared by all welterweights. He was able to go toe to toe with a fighter like Gilbert Burns and got the win too. Chimaev’s initial seventeen-second win in the UFC is also legendary. He has recently been called out multiple times by the former champion Kamaru Usman. The Nigerian Nightmare surely wants to test Chimaev’s reputation.

Before losing to Leon Edwards, Usman was the undisputed champ in the division. Showcasing brilliant grappling skills, fans wonder how the fight between the two would end. Chimaev has only been tested to the limit by Burns before, fighting Usman would surely be a new challenge.

Due to Chimaev not being able to make weight cuts before, Usman has challenged him in a catchweight bout. Dana White, the UFC boss, does not approve of this and insists the fight could take place in middleweight instead. Chimaev will next face Paulo Costa in a middleweight bout at UFC 294. Usman will have to wait his turn.
