“Better not give him title shot” – Khamzat Chimaev’s injury scare becomes true as reports claim torn ligament in right hand; fans believe title fight is sabotaged

Khamzat Chimaev was promised a title shot after his win over Kamaru Usman in UFC 294. After the fight, he claimed he had broken his hand in the first round. Chimaev also added that he’d train anyway despite the broken hand. Now, Chimaev’s manager gave us a clear picture of the fighter’s injury.
Majdi Shammas, the manager of Khamzat Chimaev, told ESPN that Chimaev had not broken his hand and suffered a torn ligament. Further, he mentioned that Chimaev has to wear a brace for the next four weeks. He also said surgery won’t be necessary now, but they would reassess the injury in a month. However, Here is what Chimaev said about his injury soon after his fight:

Khamzat Chimaev rolled over Usman in the first round of the fight. But for the later rounds, he seemed to play it safe and reduced his output. He claimed that the hand injury he suffered in the first round was the reason. Since Chimaev was the rising star, the UFC eyed matching him up with the champion Sean Strickland. But this injury jeopardizes his title fight for now.
Chimaev has an undefeated record of 13-0. He was initially supposed to face Paulo Costa in the UFC 294. But he pulled out of the fight due to an injury that allowed Usman to fight on short notice. His fight for the title against Strickland is a question mark now because of his hand injury.
