Suga” has already put forward his plan of fighting Marlon Vera in December. Aljamain Sterling has called for an immediate rematch, but the chances of him getting that are very low. O’Malley’s plans of fighting Gervonta Davis and Ilia Topuria if the Spanish-Georgian defeats Alexander Volkanovski are a wild stretch, but he sure has the potential to get them.

Cejudo also called out for a title shot, but he too has no chance of getting it. The best option for Sterling and Cejudo is to fight each other, with the winner inching closer to title contention. With Marlon Vera all but promised to give a title shot, Merab Dvalishvili, who is waiting in the wings might have to face Umar Nurmagomedov or Cory Sandhagen.

O’Malley’s only credentialed victory before the title fight win was over former champion, Petr Yan. Yan has also called out for a rematch with O’Malley, citing the fact that his fight with the champion was very close. After beating Vera, O’Malley has plans of fighting Henry Cejudo and Corey Sandhagen.
