UFC legend Quinton ‘Rampage’ Jackson is the co-host of the JAXXON podcast with Bear Degedio. UFC featherweight contender Giga Chikadze appeared on the podcast after he pulled out of his fight at UFC 296 due to a groin injury. Bryce Mitchell replaced him in his fight against Josh Emmet and suffered a brutal KO loss.

On the podcast, Jackson and Degedio inquired about Chikadze’s nickname. The Georgian fighter provided a reply that stunned Degedio and incited a hilarious reaction in Jackson. This is what Chikadze said.

Some people call me 'my Giga, the Ni**a?' I don't know. Some people call me. What I don't understand.

The term, which is an offensive word to call people of black complexion, did not offend Jackson, who found it funny. Moreover, Chikadze explained that people always thought his first name was a nickname. He also explained that his name means “Cool Guy” in Soviet countries. Furthermore, he even stated that even people from Georgia have mistaken his name.

Chikadze is one of the very few Georgian fighters in the UFC. Ilia Topuria and Merab Dvalishvili are from Georgia. Topuria will challenge the featherweight title of Alexander Volkanovski at UFC 298. Dvalishvili is also on the same card and will face Henry Cejudo in a potential number-one contender fight. Chikadze does not have a fight lined up, and his last fight was at UFC Singapore against Alex Caceres.

Rampage Jackson intrigued by fighters in the smaller weight class

Quinton Rampage Jackson was the UFC’s light heavyweight champion and was also very popular in Japan when he fought in Pride. Jackson gained notoriety for his powerful slams on MMA. Now, a co-host of the JAXXON podcast, when Giga Chikadze was the guest, Jackson talked about his interest in fighters in the smaller weight classes.

Jackson respected the fact that the smaller-weight class fighters never get tired. Moreover, he also found them to be very fast. Both factors made Jackson envious of smaller weight classes. Funnily enough, Chikadze remarked that cardio is his weakness. He acknowledged it was because he cut 40 lbs in training camp to make the featherweight limit.

Chikadze was a Karate practitioner and Kickboxer before the UFC. He revealed that nobody taught him how to cut weight during his Kickboxing days in the Netherlands. However, due to him not cutting weight, he was way stronger and accumulated a lot of knockouts.
