With UFC 293 set for the weekend, UFC legend Chael Sonnen recalled his earlier impressions of a young 21-year-old Sean Strickland. And now, the world is his oyster as he faces off against middleweight champion Israel Adesanya for the UFC gold.

In a Twitter video posted on Chael Sonnen’s account, the UFC legend reminisced about the earlier times when he saw Strickland in his immaculate zone. Sonnen in the video, said, ” He’s with a girl and he shares with me that his record is 17-0. He’s the king of the cage champion. But he’s 21 years old. So to be 17-0 and 21 years old has massive math problems. You can’t fight until you’re 18 and I was 21 when I met him. So we’re talking about doing six fights a year.“

Further, Sonnen continued his experience with Strickland. After getting baffled by his numbers, Sonnen joined a workout with Strickland. During this workout, Sonnen realized Sean’s true potential to be a huge name in the future. Additionally, Sonnen also commended Sean for being a great teammate and being a hardworking kid without any individual attention.
