Kamaru Usman isn’t the only one who got sent to the hospital after taking one of Leon Edwards’ brutal head kicks. Irish UFC fighter Ian Garry also fell victim to the iconic head kick. The UFC welterweight champ talks to Charlamagne Tha God on the Breakfast Club radio show about how the accident with Ian took place.
Turns out the 24-year-old Irish fighter was sent to the hospital after one of Leon Edwards’ kicks landed short and hit him in the tooth. Ian Garry was sent to the hospital to fix his pain and “Rocky” finds this accident in sparring funny. Talking to radio personality, Charlamagne, Edwards said, he did not land his kick clean on Garry which caused his feet to hit him in the teeth.
Ian got hit with a similar kick that flatlined the former pound-for-pound king Kamaru Usman at UFC 278. Edwards’s head kick earned him the UFC belt and is now on top of the world. “Rocky” said on the Breakfast Club that he busted the Irish fighter’s teeth with his toe while trying to land a kick in sparring.
“If you fall short, it’s like a slap. So that’s what happened basically. It busted his lip,” said Leon Edwards talking about his failed head kick that ended up hurting the former Cage Warriors Champion during sparring. It is best to not stay anywhere near Leon Edwards when he’s landing his head kick.

Leon Edwards’s knockout against Kamaru Usman was a once-in-a-lifetime moment in the history of UFC. The British Jamaican pulled off that amazing KO out of nowhere in a fight he was losing on the scorecards. Edwards and Usman will soon be fighting in the UK in a welterweight title rematch.
