Leon Edwards walkout songs
Currently, Leon Edwards is one of the biggest superstars in the UFC. The Brit is ranked second in the welterweight division and is the number one contender for the title. Edwards’ debut in the UFC wasn’t exceptional as he lost his first bout to Claudio Silva.
However, he proved his worth in his second UFC fight against Seth Baczynski as he won the performance of the night bonus. Leon then went on to defeat Pawel Pawlak and faced Kamaru Usman in his fourth UFC fight.
Usman was coming off to that fight with a win against Hayder Hassan at the TUF 21 finals. He defeated Edwards via a unanimous decision. This was Edwards’ last loss inside the octagon. Currently, Edwards is undefeated in his last 10 fights and has dominated most of the fighters he fought in the last seven years. His winning streak includes victories over fighters like Vicente Luque, Donald Cerrone, Rafael dos Anjos, and Nate Diaz.
Needless to say, Edwards is a Pay-per-view star and loves to put on a show for his fans. He is one of those fighters who try to entertain the fans in and outside the octagon. Like many other fighters, Edwards is a hip hop fan and no wonder he chose a Jamaican hip hop song twice in a row for his entrance. Shabba Madda Pot” by Dexta Daps is a classic and has millions of views on YouTube. Edwards used this song in his most recent fight against Nate Diaz at UFC 263 which he won via unanimous decision.
Previously, Edwards has walkout out to this song in his fight against Belal Muhammad at UFC Vegas 21. However, the fight ended in a no contest due to an accidental eye poke by Edwards.
‘Grinding All My Life’ by Nipsey Hussle
It seems like Edwards is very fond of ‘Grinding All My Life’. He has used this song by Nipsey Hussle on many of his entrances. Edwards used the song during his fight against Rafael dos Anjos at UFC on ESPN: dos Anjos vs. Edwards. ‘Rocky’ won the fight via unanimous decision.
Before this, Edwards also used this song to walk out against Gunnar Nelson, Donald Cerrone and Peter Sobotta.
‘The Rain’ by DMX
Edwards faced Kamaru Usman for the first time at UFC on Fox 17 and used the American hip hop classic, “The Rain” by DMX as his entrance song.
