“Pay Him 10 Million” Li Jingliang applauded by fans despite controversial decision loss at UFC 279

Li was facing setback after setback all through the week

Li Jingliang is an unsung hero of the entire card for UFC 279 and like most heroes he got an undeserving ending. Jingliang topped off a bad week where he kept his spirits high, with a loss against D-Rod that many think, should have rightly went in Li’s favour.

Originally Li , was supposed to face his MMA Idol, Tony Ferguson in a 3-round co-main event. However, a weight miss by Khamzat Chimaev, led to the entire card being reshuffled where Li made the sacrifice of giving up his co-main spot while also accepting a fight with an opponent that’s 10 lbs heavier than him, on 24-hours notice.

Even prior to this the press conference brawl between Khamzat Chimaev, Nate Diaz, Kevin Holland, and another 70+ people that led to the cancelation of the event, meaning that Li could not showcase his custom-made suit at the presser, something he was very excited about. This bad week had to be topped off with an unfair decision against him considering all the circumstances.

Li’s suit and his excitement to show it off was a huge part of his segments in the UFC’s fight week vlog, EMBEDDED.
