“Can’t do this s**** anymore” – Luke Rockhold bid an emotional Farewell from the UFC after losing to Paulo Costa at UFC 278

Luke Rockhold finally came back from his hiatus and fought Paulo Costa in the co-main event of UFC 278. Rockhold was the underdog going into the fight and fans were expecting easy work for Costa. However, Rockhold shocked everybody and put forward an incredible performance. The fight went on for three complete rounds and both fighters went all out against each other.
Rockhold did look a little out of breath and fought with his lack of cardio but it didn’t stop him from putting on a show. Costa, on the other hand, was in a different mood and was charging throughout the fight. The Brazilian landed much more accurate shots and was dominating on the ground. After three rounds, Costa was declared the winner via unanimous decision.
Costa was impressed by Rockholds tenacity and gave credit for surviving three rounds. He said in the post fight interview:
“My man he suprised me, you know. He got a lot of clear shots on the face on the chin and people used to say he hasn’t good chin but he has.”

“Oh I’m f****** old”- Luke Rockhold gives a heartfelt message to his fans as he shares an emotional moment with Joe Rogan
After the fight, Joe Rogan went up to Luke Rockhold for the post-fight interview and the whole situation was pretty emotional.
After giving such a strong performance, Rockhold was in tears and revealed that he has given so much to this sport but he can’t continue this anymore. Rockhold thanked MMA, UFC and Rogan also but explained that he is too old for this thing.
“I have been through so much last few years. Thank you fighting, thank you UFC, thank you Joe. I f** can’t do this s* anymore. I gave it my all, I just didn’t …oh I’m f* old,” said Rockhold.
After this, both Rogan and Rockhold chuckled and went on to give the fighter a well-deserved send-off. Rogan mentioned that Rockhold did his best and showed an amazing fighting spirit against Costa. Rogan explained that Rockhold had an amazing career and he is an absolute legend of the sport. Rogan said:
“Well, Luke I will tell you what you have. You have heart, courage like no one else. That was an amazing display of perseverance and guts and courage and the will to win….if this is the last fight you have inside the octagon, thank you very much for an incredible career. It’s been an honour to call your fights. Luke Rockhold ladies and gentlemen, give it for a legend.”
Despite his inactivity in the last few years, Rockhold has achieved great success inside the octagon. The fighter is a former UFC as well as StrikeForce champion and has given several entertaining bouts to the fans. Rockhold will surely be a UFC Hall of Famer in the future.
