“This is number 1 bullsh*t” – Luke Rockhold recounts the experience of getting ragdolled by Khabib Nurmagomedov
Luke Rockhold talks about recent training with Khabib Nurmagomedov
Luke Rockhold got a very “friendly” welcome to the AKA gym by former lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov.
Luke Rockhold has decided to move back to his old gym, American Kickboxing Academy in San Jose, California. The fighter recently announced his return to San Jose, California on his Instagram account and posted a video of him wrestling with post-retirement Khabib Nurmagomedov. Khabib was already a monster on the ground as a 155-pounder and held his own during those days.
Following his retirement, Khabib weighs way more than in his fighting days and middleweight Rockhold had a tough time in training. Recently Luke appeared on the DC Check-In show on YouTube and spoke about his experience. When Daniel Cormier asked about him taking the “Khabib airlines” during training, Luke admitted to getting manhandled.
“Brother, this is the number one bullsh*t. This is the number one bullsh*t,” said Luke talking about Khabib’s size in recent days. “He gets a body lock on me and when you give him side position and it is like nothing you have ever experienced.”

What is next for Luke Rockhold?
Luke Rockhold is looking to make his official return to the octagon for the first time since 2019 at UFC 277. The former middleweight Strikeforce and UFC champ will be taking on one-time middleweight title contender Paulo Costa in a 185-pound matchup in July 2022. Luke is looking to reclaim his middleweight throne with a win over Costa.
However, Luke has said that he believes that the fight could be postponed to the month of August. Rockhold was supposed to make his comeback last year against Sean Strickland but a last-moment injury forced Luke to call off the fight. Luke’s last two fights have not gone his way as he fell victim to two of the most devastating knockouts in UFC history. Coming off two losses against Yoel Romero and Jan Blachowicz, Luke will take on another knockout artist in Paulo Costa and hopefully flip the script in his favor this time.
