Marvin Vettori is one of top middleweights in UFC and has the capability to become the champion. The fighter got his opportunity to fight Izzy at UFC 263 which he lost via unanimous decision. Adesanya dominated the fight and didn’t give the Italian many chances to retaliate.

After losing the title opportunity, Vettori was challenged by Paulo Costa which took place at UFC Vegas 41. Vettori defeated the Brazilian despite the fight being held at light heavyweight division. The next challenge for Vettori is to fight Robert Whittaker who recently lost his trilogy fight against Izzy. The fight between Whittaker and Vettori is set to take place on September 9th at UFC Paris. Both the fighters are still confident about beating Adesanya and get the middleweight title which will make this fight very entertaining.

After the main event of UFC 276, Vettori took to Twitter to show his disappointment towards the fight between Izzy and Cannonier.

The Italian mentioned that the fight was extremely boring and fans were leaving the arena after watching three rounds. Vettori suggested that the middleweight division requires a new champion; it is going to take place soon. Vettori also gave a prediction that in nine weeks he will make things clear and will become the first Italian UFC champion.

If Vettori manages to go through Whittaker on September 9, there is a high chance that might get the title shot. It will be his second shot at the gold. Vettori is looking pretty confident about it but there is a lot of ground to cover in order to reach the target.
