The co-main event of UFC Sao Paulo delivered. However, it did not go the way the crowd expected. Nicolas Dalby was a +460 underdog entering the bout. He defeated the undefeated Gabriel Bonfim. Bonfim was the biggest favorite in the card at -620.

The fight began as many analysts expected. Bonfim, who has finished all his two fights in the UFC in under 80 seconds, quickly searched for a finish. Dalby didn’t back down as he returned the favor. However, Bonfim secured a body lock takedown, which put Dalby on his back. The younger Bonfim brother rained ground and pound and also looked for chokes. When the bell rang at the end of the first round, it was the first time that Gabriel Bonfim completed a full round in the UFC.

The second round began with Bonfim looking to finish Dalby quickly, and he took the first step in taking him down. However, Dalby stood back up and poured on the pressure. Bonfim was put on his back foot for the first time. Both fighters traded punches, knees, and elbows at the fence. Unfortunately, the 38-year-old Dalby was not as tired as Bonfim. Bonfim fell to the ground, covering up, which forced the referee to call it off.
