” Congrats to my brother ” – Max Holloway applauds Alex Volkanovski after UFC 276 co-main event

Alexander Volkanovski vs Max Holloway i their trilogy fight

Max Holloway and Alexander Volkanovski recently had their much anticipated trilogy fight at UFC 276. During the fight week, Holloway promised to bring his top game and take back the belt he lost in the past. However, the fight turned out the total opposite of what the Hawaiian had imagined. Volkanovski continued his sublime form and absolutely demolished Holloway giving him no chance to retaliate.

Volkanovski was faster and more accurate in the fight and managed to cut Holloway during the early rounds. This resulted in Holloway ‘s face being bloodied and the fighter was unable to take back control. At the end, Volkanovski was declared the winner via unanimous decision.

After the fight during the post fight interview, Volkanovski gave credit to Holloway and opened up about his future plans. He said :

Max Holloway is an absolute beast,” Volkanovski said. “That intensity that he brought over the past few days, I needed it…I just proved to you that I want to be in this Octagon as much as possible.I want to be busy and I don’t think this division itself can keep me busy. I want to move up and get that double champ status and if I get both belts, I will keep both divisions busy. Let’s go.”

After recovering from the fight, Holloway, like a true gentleman, took to Twitter to show his respect towards Volkanovski. The fighter also mentioned to the fans that he is all right and will bounce back harder.

” I’m still up 2-0 on knockdowns for trilogy. Prob gonna need a 4th to settle this. ? Just playing. Congrats to my brother @alexvolkanovski . Go get that 55 strap. You earned the shot. You’re #1 P4P right now,” wrote Holloway.

Holloway tried his best to make some impact in the last round by desperately trying to swing but missed most of them. It was an unfortunate night that Holloway will like to forget in future. On the other hand, Volkanovski yet again proved that he is the king of featherweight and is not ready to give up his belt. On the top of that, he is ready to take on the lightweight division which is going to be extremely interesting.
