“Can I go floral” Max Holloway has a hilarious fight kit request before UFC 276 inspired by Bryce Mitchell

“Can I go floral” Max Holloway has a hilarious fight kit request before UFC 276 inspired by Bryce Mitchell

Holloway has asked for some custom shorts following Mitchell's lead

Max Holloway has had everything he ever wanted. After gaining a UFC championship, a perfect family and loyal fans to go along the only thing that has eluded the “Blessed Express” for so long? Customized shorts.

Max started in the UFC a few years before the Reebok deal was signed and found his career reaching it’s peak right as the Reebok era was slowly coming to an end. The company was notorious for it’s uniform designs that lacked soul and would only make customized shorts for the biggest of stars (that list is exclusively limited to an Irishman named McGregor) Since the Reebok deal has come to an end, Venum took over and clearly they know how to put up a fight kit.

Venum has its roots in MMA even before Reebok was mildly interested in the sport and is a big reason why the rebranded designs have been received well by the fans as well as fighters. Venum has been known to pander more to the fighters as they offer customization to kits and aren’t as rigid as Reebok. Many fighters found out about this when Bryce Mitchell’s wish to fight in camouflage shorts was agreed upon by the company.

Holloway and Volkanowski will run it back the third time at UFC 276

Now Max Holloway wants to try his luck before his trilogy bout against Volkanowski. Referring to his fellow featherweight, Bryce Mitchell Holloway asked the company if he could get some special customization to his kit before he challenges for the title.

The star took to Twitter and said, “Hey since Bryce got his camo can I get some floral on my shorts” While a floral design may seem odd for a fighter, it represents the natural serenity of Max’s home state of Hawai and hence the star wasn’t to pay homage to his roots in the biggest fight of his career.

Max Holloway is set to challenge for the featherweight title held by Alexander Volkanowski at UFC 276 in what will be their trilogy bout. Holloway is down 2-0 against Volkanowski and many hope the former champion redeems himself in their third outing.
