Merab Dvalishvili remains hellbent on challenging Sean O’Malley for the bantamweight title. He called out Sean O’Malley on X. O’Malley is a superstar for the UFC, as evidenced by Dana White‘s comments during the post-fight press conference of UFC 292. White has planned big things for O’Malley.

Dana White bashed the Georgian fighter because he refused to fight Aljamain Sterling, his friend and training partner at Serra-Longo MMA. The stance hasn’t gone well with Dana White. White voiced his displeasure during the post-fight press conference of the Contender Series. Dvalishvili took to X to voice his displeasure. “The Machine,” said, ” Every UFC win since my 1st in 2018 I called out @SugaSeanMMA @ufc and Sean ignored my callouts.I say I don’t want to fight my teammate and brother@funkmasterMMA and the media goes cr*zy!If there is no immediate rematch I am Number 1 for this Title match. Dvalishvili’s scathing remarks on MMA media are worth noting. The media has already gotten behind Dana White and bashed both “The Machine” and “The Funkmaster.” However, O’Malley ducking Dvalishvili has not made any headlines. This is what infuriated Dvalishvili.

Sean O’Malley calling out Marlon Vera has already dampened Dvalishvili’s hope of getting a title shot. The signs are that the UFC will book the rematch between Sean O’Malley and Marlon Vera. Dvalishvili could potentially be next in line if he fights and defeats Henry Cejudo in his next bout.

Dana White used Rose Namajunas to throw shade at Merab Dvalishvili

Rose Namajunas recently fought at UFC Paris but lost the fight to Manon Fiorot by unanimous decision. The fight was the co-main event of UFC Paris. UFC Paris saw the French fighters winning the main and co-main events. Ciryl Gane won the main event at UFC Paris 2023.

Namajunas came up in weight to fight Fiorot. A win could have gotten her a title shot. When previously asked about fighting Valentina Shevchenko during Valentina’s championship reign, Rose welcomed the bout. Namajunas reiterated her stance when asked during the UFC Paris fight week. Dana White used Namajunas’ stance on fighting Shevchenko, with whom she has trained before, as the right way to be a professional as opposed to Sterling’s and Dvalishvili’s stance.

Even though Namajunas lost to Manon Fiorot, her toughness was worth noting as she broke the pinky finger on her right arm. Dana White also praised her toughness for going the distance whilst injured.
