Conor McGregor might have lost a multi-million dollar sponsorship deal as a result of his scandal-filled game in the NBA finals with the Miami Heat. On June 9th, McGregor gained attention after a promotional presentation to support his TIDL pain spray went wrong. As part of a humorous skit, “The Notorious” was intended to punch Heat mascot Bernie in the face. However, the former UFC double champion didn’t hold back, and the punch sent the mascot to the hospital.
The situation then substantially worsened when someone in the audience accused McGregor of ra*ing her and the Miami Heat staff of supporting the act. Investigations into the event are still ongoing, but neither the Irish sports star nor the Miami Heat are proud of themselves. McGregor was there for business however, after the incident, it’s not looking good at all.
A Miami Heat insider talked to pagesix.com about the updates regarding the sponsorship deal. “This was very bad for an otherwise crystal clean organization. I can’t imagine the Heat brass want the Tidl Sports patch on their jerseys — it’s a reminder of the 24 hours of hell the organization went through,” said the insider. The team has deleted all the social media footage of Conor McGregor and similar, McGregor has also not talked about the incident since then.
Conor McGregor gives details about the premiere of his upcoming Hollywood movie
Conor McGregor‘s Hollywood debut alongside actor Jake Gyllenhaal gathered a lot of attention even before his release. Road House is the remake of Patrick Swayze’s 1989 film of the same name.
In a recent Twitter post, McGregor shared a video of him interacting with his fans and signing their Proper No. Twelve Irish Whiskey bottles. When a fan asked about the movie, McGregor said: “September or maybe the end of this year, late 2023 or early 2024. I’m buzzing about it. There are a lot of rave reviews we’re getting so we’re excited about it. Very happy with it…That’s love, that’s love.”
Fans were excited about McGregor’s MMA comeback but it seems like the fighter is still not inside the USADA testing pool. Hopefully, they can at least see him on the big screen when the movie comes out.
