“They do have a F**KING HEART,” Michael Bisping claims that the UFC financially supports its fighters as opposed to the infamous fighter pay narrative

“They do have a F**KING HEART,” Michael Bisping claims that the UFC financially supports its fighters as opposed to the infamous fighter pay narrative

Michael Bisping- Dana White

You can convince anyone that the UFC is a lousy institute in terms of paying its fighters and treating them wrong but not Michael Bisping. Bisping is the former UFC middleweight champion who became the first ever British UFC champion in 2016 and to this day is the only one of it. Bisping retired in 2018 and was inducted into the UFC Hall of Fame in 2019. As of now, Bisping is an avid Youtuber with 2 channels, one by his own name and the other by the name of Michael Bisping Podcast.

Bisping is known for his wins over the likes of Anderson Silva, Dan Henderson, Cung Le, Luke Rockhold, Brian Stann, Jason Miller and many more. Besides being a Youtuber, Bisping is also the commentator for the UFC events, majorly Fight Nights and occasionally the PPV events as well. Bisping started his UFC career by winning the third season of The Ultimate Fighter back in 2006.

On his podcast titled “Believe You Me” co-hosted alongside UFC light-heavyweight Anthony Smith, Bisping talks about various things associated with the ongoing scenes in the MMA world and in the midst of all finds himself upon hearing Smith speaking highly of the UFC and ESPN for allowing him to have his break from his injury and for his grief on the occasion of the loss of his mother. To this, Bisping couldn’t reserve his honest thoughts about the UFC for long and he also had to go to the anti-UFC media narratives.

“Every time I say anything like this I always get accused of being a UFC shield… there was a guy on [Dana White’s] Contender Series a few weeks ago, afterwards, they heard of his struggles Dana gave him a massive stack of cash, do you know what I mean?” says Bisping. “You get looked after, they do care, they do have a f**king heart. A lot of the media like to spin this narrative like the big greedy evil Dana and they don’t f**king care…

The reality is they have a business model that they follow but the money is there to be earned and they do care they don’t treat you like s**t,” concludes Bisping.

What do you make of Bisping’s claims of the UFC being a rather virtuous than a vice institute where the fighters are given sufficient attention based on their life struggles and other concerns? Do you feel the same way or are you still carrying reservations about how the UFC works and pays its fighters? While no entity is perfect on this planet, there’s always a scope for improvement, even in the mechanism of the UFC. But there’s no denying the UFC can be called out for the most faults in its system because it was the first promotion of its kind to empower a completely unique combat sport to the world 3 decades ago.
